Poll: Americans want to address climate change now

A coalition of 31 national environmental organizations recently called on President-elect Barack Obama to work with Congress to pass ambitious economy-wide climate change legislation, while moving ahead under the Clean Air Act to set greenhouse gas emission limits on electric power plants, cars and fuels.

Jerry Karnas, the Florida Climate Project Director with the Environmental Defense Fund, says a new survey commissioned by his organization on Election Night shows that even in this time of economic crises, a majority of Americans say now is the time to address climate change.
