Tonight in Tampa, local Democrats will choose a new chairperson to run the Hillsborough County Democratic Executive Committee. The race is between current Vice Chair Pat Kemp and Brandon businessman James Randolph.

Tomorrow, Hillsborough Republicans will choose their new leader. Deborah Cox-Roush, the current special events coordinator for the local party, is expected to win that position.

And on Thursday, Pinellas County Democrats will vote for their new chairperson.WMNF will feature interviews this week with the three candidates in that contest.

Tonight, we speak to Ramsey McLaughlin. Until moving to Florida five years ago, McLaughlin was heavily involved in Democratic politics in the state of New Hampshire where, among other duties, he served as the executive director of the New Hampshire Democratic Party.

WMNF asked McLaughlin what he thought he could bring to the party that it currently lacks.

Tomorrow night, we’ll hear from another candidate in the race, Mark Hanisee.
