Dr. Mary O'Brien talked about the importance of health care for all and the difference between insurance coverage and health care. Dr. O’Brien graduated from Harvard Medical School, trained at Columbia Presbyterian in internal medicine, and is double boarded in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine.

She has practiced medicine in New York City for the past 30 years and is on the faculty at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. O’Brien is on the board of the New York Metro chapter of PNHP and chairs the Media/Communications Committee. She co-edited “10 Excellent Reasons for National Health Care,” a small pocket book which was published in the fall of 2008.
