Good afternoon, welcome to WMNF's Radioactivity program. I'm Rob Lorei.

From the book's press release: "Capitalism is facing its biggest crisis since the Great Depression, it time for a clear-eyed reconsideration of capitalism’s strengths and weaknesses. Since the fall of Communism two decades ago, capitalism has been (almost) unchallenged as the world’s reigning ideology, and in Creative Capitalism: A Conversation with Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and Other Economic Leaders. Edited by Michael Kinsley, some of the greatest practitioners and students of capitalism (from the right, left, center and libertarian sectors) talk about how it can serve the world's poor as effectively as it serves the world's rich."

At the 2008 World Economic Forum, Bill Gates challenged entrepreneurs, non-profit pioneers, economists, and academics to consider “creative capitalism” to address the growing gap between the rich and the poor in the global economy. Whether or not they agree with Gates, over 40 of the most influential thinkers in the world of business, including three Nobel laureates and two former U.S. cabinet secretaries, attempt answer the many questions that Gates’s speech raises.
