Tampa City Councilman Charlie Miranda said today that if people don’t start restricting their use of water, the city should publicize the top 100 users in the city.
Miranda made his comments days after Tampa Bay Water, said it would ask the Southwest Florida Water Management District to tighten watering restrictions later this month. The change could further restrict the hours for outdoor watering, already limited to one day per week.
Miranda said he’d bring the issue up again in 30 days.
Councilman John Dingfelder said he wanted to get an update from the city’s water department head Brad Baird.
City Councilwoman Mary Mulhern said she wanted to propose specific measures on users water use.
Councilwoman Mary Mulhern’s will be hosting a community meeting regarding organic vegetable gardens Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Sweetwater organic farm in Town 'N Country.
