Bedier responds to Hasner who says he has ties to hate groups listen03/10/09 Seán Kinane
WMNF Drive-Time News Tuesday | Listen to this entire show:
Ahmed Bedier responded to what he called the “grandstanding” by Republican Representative Adam Hasner the House Majority Leader, who said today, “This is simply drawing attention to the leader of this group [Bedier] and his well-documented ties to dubious individuals and other groups that promote hate, sympathize with terrorists, and have links to terrorist organizations like Hamas.”
“Hasner lives in the twilight zone. If he has serious concerns about the security of our nation, he should report it to his nearest FBI office," Bedier said.
"The Speaker of the House himself -- who is a superior to [Rep.] Hasner, and within from his own party -- sent us a letter of appreciation and welcome to the state capital, and recognizes how important this effort is.”
That was Ahmed Bedier, president of United Voices for America, a group participating in Muslim Day in the state capital.
Bedier is co-host of the Arab-Muslim program True Talk that airs every Friday from 11 am until noon on WMNF, 88.5 FM and wmnf.org.
