Earlier this year, Florida’s Attorney General Bill McCollum produced a television ad about cyber crime. But McCollum was criticized because the ad was produced by the same company that worked on his 2006 campaign and there was no bidding process. Chris Mottola Consulting was paid about $136,000 for its work on the ad.
This afternoon, WMNF asked Florida’s Chief Financial Officer, Alex Sink, about the ad produced by McCollum.
“As your Chief Financial Officer, I have always been an advocate of the bidding process to get the best deal for the taxpayer. And in this situation, that’s not the way the Attorney General chose to produce this ad.”
