Miami area Democratic Representative Kendrick Meek added to his growing list of supporters today when fellow Congress members Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Ron Klein endorsed him.
All three Representatives have worked together for years, beginning in the Florida House and Senate, and now in Congress.
Wasserman Schultz was enthusiastic in announcing her support for Meek.
Broward County area Democrat Ron Klein knocked out longtime Republican Clay Shaw in 2006, and was rumored at one point to perhaps become a candidate himself for Senate in 2010. Klein called Meek the epitome of a hard worker in Congress.
Last month, Jacksonville area Congresswoman Corrine Brown announced that she was forming an Exploratory Committee to study whether to compete for the Senate seat next year.
Meek said he has had conversation with Brown for the past several weeks, but emphasized that she is not in the race at this moment.
Klein and Wasserman Schultz said they both like and respect Congresswoman Brown, but had contacted her Chief of Staff over the weekend to let her know that they were endorsing Meek.
