Urban Permaculture

07/13/09 Jon Butts
Radioactivity: Live Call-In (Friday) | Listen to this entire show:

Our guest, John Starnes, is a Tampa-based garden writer living a frugal, but good life in the inner city. Also, Debbie Butts, a local plant lover and farmer, joined the program. Both talked about summer vegetable crops, perennial edible plants and fruit trees in our area. John also gave some great tips for dumpster diving. He teaches weekend urban gardening classes out of his south Tampa home. Debbie and John are both members of the Barefoot Gardeners E-group and post answers to questions on-line there. Host, Jon Butts announced the upcoming joint meeting of the Suncoast Native Plant Society and the local chapters of the Sierra Club and Audubon Society; Willow LaMont's Tropical Plant Fair on July 26, and the home solar seminar at Brooker Creek Preserve on July 25.
