Earlier this week we reported on a wave of endorsements for Bill Foster for Mayor of St. Petersburg.

Today, WMNF spoke with Foster’s opponent, Kathleen Ford before a St. Petersburg Bar Association meeting.

We began the interview by asking Ford for her reaction to finishing second in the crowded ten-person primary to advance to the general election: “Oh, I’m thrilled.”

Responding to Bill Foster’s endorsements, Ford says, “there’s an opportunity for real change here in the city of St. Petersburg. And it’s not just about the good ol’ boys. You know, it’s time to open it up to everyone and that’s what our campaign represents.”
