WMNF Drive-Time News Wednesday | Listen to this entire show:
A lawsuit was filed today in Tallahassee by parents and advocacy groups who say that Florida is violating its state Constitution by not adequately funding education.
In 1998, 71 percent of Florida voters approved a constitutional amendment requiring that children get a “high quality education.”
A similar complaint was filed in state court earlier this month in West Palm Beach by the ACLU.
Today, WMNF spoke with State Senator Dan Gelber, a Democrat from Miami Beach.
Gelber is running for state Attorney General and faces a primary challenge from Senator Dave Aronberg.
