A group of enterprising students at the University of South Florida is working on a project that could potentially keep millions of plastic bottles out of landfills and save a million dollars a year.
The members of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) plan to have filtering systems installed on some the Tampa campusâ€™s most popular water fountains.
The idea has also attracted the attention of retail giant Wal-Mart which gave the project a $6,000 grant. Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton also founded Students in Free Enterprise. Eric Rosenthal is Associate Director of SIFE.
