Good afternoon, welcome to Radioactivity. I'm Robert Lorei. According to the Associated Press:
Florida House Speaker Larry Cretul has refused to delay a special legislative session that will conflict with the annual meeting of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators.
The Ocala Republican on Tuesday rejected a request by House Democratic Leader Franklin Sands of Weston to postpone the start of the session on rail transportation until next week.
The black lawmakers' meeting will be held Wednesday through Saturday in Fort Lauderdale. The special session will start Thursday with an initial floor vote Friday in the House.
In a letter to Sands, Cretul wrote that the House must stick with that schedule to finish the session by noon, Dec. 11, the first day of Hanukkah.
We're joined now by State Representative Keith Fitzgerald of Sarasota who is the House Democratic Policy Chair. Keith Fitzgerald.
