Yes Men protest Coca-Cola’s environmental record listen12/11/09 Kelly Benjamin and Seán Kinane
WMNF Drive-Time News Friday | Listen to this entire show:
Culture jamming pranksters the Yes Men showed up in Copenhagen tonight impersonating shamed Coca-Cola representatives. They asked people to pledge never to drink Coca Cola again until the drink company changes its environmental practices.
Coca Cola is a major sponsor of the "Hopenhagen." It’s a project generated by the International Advertising Association representing the global advertising industry in support of the United Nations.
However, the Coca Cola sponsorship is seen by some as hypocritical and an attempt at greenwashing Coca Cola's tragic environmental and human rights record in places like India.
The Yes Men were joined by a member of the Indian Youth delegation in Copenhagen.
