The police killing of 18-year-old Marquell Mccollough in St Petersburg was one of the factors which contributed to a march turned violent in South St Pete two weeks ago. A state attorneys investigation into the actions of the sheriff’s department officers who killed McCullough have found that it was justifiable homicide. One of the more controversial aspects of the incident was that of the two sheriffs cars, which are required by law to have videotape rolling, one had a malfunctioning video cameras, and the other one ran out of videotape. Officers Antolini and Syers fired 15 shots into McCullough’s pickup truck. At a press conference in reaction to WMNF spoke with Marquell McCullough’s mother about her reaction to the state attorneys investigation.
