The state’s Chief Financial Officer, Alex Sink, made a faux pas when speaking at the graduation ceremony at the University of Central Florida (UCF) on Friday. Sink now has to explain her embarrassing mix-up where she referred to UCF as USF. She was booed by UCF students when she referred to the school by the initials of its cross-state rival, the University of South Florida (USF). By the following day, Alex Sink attempted to gracefully brush off the gaffe.

“Well, I had an unfortunate slip of the tongue but we all laughed it off and it was all about a fantastic graduation ceremony at University of Central Florida yesterday. They awarded their 200,000th diploma yesterday, so it was a great day of celebration for University of Central Florida.”

Sink, a Democrat who is running for Governor, was in St. Petersburg on Saturday meeting with officials from BP about the oil leak in the Gulf.
