USS Liberty survivor tells his story05/13/10 Robert Lorei
Radioactivity: Live Call-In (Thursday) | Listen to this entire show:
On June 8, 1967, the US Navy intelligence ship USS Liberty was attacked in international waters by the air and naval forces of Israel. Two-thirds of the nearly 300 men on the ship were either killed or wounded.
Our guest, Ernie Gallo, was a sailor on the ship and he says the Israeli forces attacked with full knowledge that this was an American ship and later lied about it. Survivors have been forbidden for 40 years to tell their story under oath to the American public. Ernie Gallo will be speaking this Saturday night at 7 at the United Church of Christ in Tampa.
