DOUG CHAPIN ON VOTING MACHINES - Mitch Perry
Today, protests were being held in front of the Supevisor of Elections offices in 7 Counties in Florida, including Sarasota, Pasco and Hillsborough.......The activists are demanding that the Supervisors agree that a voter-verifiable trail for the county's touch-screen voting machines should be required - if not for this year, then for next year's election.
But so far, with the exception of Palm Beach County, the line from most other Supervisor of elections, and from Secretary of State Glenda Hood's office has been: There's no need.
A few minutes ago, we spoke with Doug Chapin, director of Electionline.org, a Web site that tracks changes in voting systems.
We asked him about the controversy about Touch Screen Machines
(roll tape : "and do not appreciate")
