An institution in Tampa’s urban radio landscape is no more. WTMP, which airs R&B on 96.1 FM and 1150 AM is changing its format. One programmer who was laid off when they switched to automated programming this week is Jarvis El-Amin. He hosted a community talk show called Honest Opinion and says he’s not sure what type of programming will be next.

Didn’t want to be unseemly???Sooo… why aren’t we having a full-blown pitch-a-bitch about losing “Tampa’s urban radio landscape”??? Ohhh… that’s right… Tama Broadcasting went bankrupt and sold out to a New York firm who brought in "La Bahia", which is Spanish for "The Bay"!!!
