Good morning, welcome to Radioactivity. I'm Rob Lorei. First up the so called "fiscal cliff". The New York Times says of the term: "The term refers to more than $500 billion in tax increases and across-the-board spending cuts scheduled to take effect after Jan. 1 — for fiscal year 2013 alone — unless Mr. Obama and Republicans reach an alternative deficit-reduction deal. Ben Bernanke, the chairman of the Federal Reserve, who is not known for catchy phrases, coined the metaphor “fiscal cliff” last winter to warn of the dangerous yet avoidable drop-off ahead in the nation’s fiscal path. It stuck." We're joined now by Bob Kuttner. he's the co-founder and co-editor of The American Prospect magazine, Kuttner is the author of “A Presidency in Peril: The Inside Story of Obama’s Promise, Wall Street’s Power, and the Struggle to Control Our Economic Future.” FMI

Next up we'll talk about the growing conflict between Israel and the people of Gaza. Our guest is David Harris who is executive director of the American Jewish Committee
