Who What Why

On the topic of conspiracy theories: consider the following. A couple lives on the outskirts of a small Mexican town for 18 months, obviously quite off the radar screen. Then the husband visits the Soviet Embassy in Mexico city and successfully petitions the Russians for 2 seats on an Aeroflot flight to Ireland - on the basis that they need to get back to their home country, & Shannon, Ireland is the only country in Europe willing to re-fuel Aeroflot. The request is successful - though it takes days before it's confirmed - which requires several visits. Then the flight - which is a diplomatic mission from South America to Moscow and takes no paying passengers - breaks down in Havana for 36 hrs. Bear (so to speak) with me. The 2 passengers are finally deposited in Shannon, where - in 1986 - no-one has ever historically left the plane. So there is no Customs and Immigration on duty at 4am. And NO-ONE TO SAY THEY DIDN'T CONTINUE TO MOSCOW. Then there is a return trip, some months later, by the same couple, to deep east Texas (as they like to call it) and 2 years living in an extremely isolated area - a log cabin. All activity entirely innocuous, I assure you, because I was the husband in that story. Then cut to 10 years later - I service the fire extinguishers in Huffman Aviation in Venice & meet the obnoxious Rudi Dekkers, twice..... the owner of the flight school that trained some of the 911 pilots.... Now consider this - I'm an innocent bystander in a Dealey Plaza-type situation and I'm picked up by the police.... Think about it. What are the odds? Conspiracy theorists would have me training in the Mexican desert for a year, indoctrinated by the Cuban Govt, then planted in a remote part of Texas for further training or as a sleeper cell. Get a life. From what I read on the conspiracy blogs I am asked to deny the evidence of my own eyes. Airliners didn't fly into the twin towers - they were guided missiles. Sorry. I saw an RV a few years ago that caught fire in a gas station (!) reduced to almost nothing - recognizable. I am NOT saying that conspiracies don't exist - but I am also feeling that it's become an industry selling books to (largely) morons. Thank you for your immense patience, Tim/Bradenton

Thank you for airing one of the most interesting -- and frightening -- stories. I have no doubt so much happens and we Americans are never informed. But what the interview really hit home for me is how lazy the media has become. One of this country's strengths is its free press (media). Where are they? Keep up the good work whowhatwhy.

ooops. Let me add, keep up the good work wmnf!
