Good morning, welcome to Radioactivity. I'm Rob Lorei. Coming up today we'll talk about a community project taking place soon in North Tampa-- it's an effort to improve the lives of people who live in the area near the University of South Florida. But first- one listener comment about yesterday's show. Yesterday we spent much of the hour talking about guns and what to do to reduce gun violence. Here's what one listener had to say:
This Saturday more than 500 volunteers from businesses , non-profit service groups, government agencies, religious groups and student organizations will take part in the first ever Paint the Town event in the University Area Community in north Tampa-- an area between interstate 275 and the USF Tampa campus. We're joined by:
Dan Jurman CEO/Executive Director of the University Area Community Development Corporation. We're also joined by Howard Tyson who is a volunteer and lives in the area. And three people from Avesta Homes- which is one of the operators of multi-family housing in the area. They are Dan French, Clint Miller and Kim Swenson.
