Bob Hackworth is currently the mayor of Dunedin. He is running for congress in Florida’s 10th district, taking on Pinellas County political powerhouse Bill Young.

After winning the Democratic Party nomination over Samm Simpson and Max Linn, Hackworth is now focusing on his general election campaign.

Covering nearly all of Pinellas County aside from South St. Petersburg and parts of Clearwater, the 10th Congressional District has been represented by Young, the Republican incumbent, for nearly 38 years.

Hackworth, an avid cyclist, takes his campaign door-to-door by riding his bike up and down city blocks, knocking on the doors of mostly independent voters.

Hackworth told WMNF how he felt about the way he’s going about his campaign.
