Environmentalists Plan Boat Tour to Area on South End of the Sunshine Skyway Slated for Development
Good morning welcome to Radioactivity. I'm Rob Lorei. Coming up today we'll speak with Kent Bailey who is Co-Chair of the Growth Management Committee of the Sierra Club, Tampa Bay Group.
Bailey says: "A bold plan to trade a large tract of tidal land for a much smaller tract of public land at the south end of the Sunshine Skyway has generated a great deal of concern for the Sierra Club. Developers plan to construct seawalls and dredge a deep basin on publicly owned land where they will build a tourist destination complete with captive dolphins, right in the middle of the Terra Ceia Aquatic Preserve." Bailey and other environmentalists will take a tour of the area proposed for development this Sunday.comments powered by Disqus
