Florida youth activists stage sit-in at state capital against "stand your ground" law

Today on Radioactivity, Rob Lorei speaks with activists who want the "stand your ground" law repealed. A group of 100 youth activists- called the Dream Defenders began a sit-in yesterday in the Florida state capital. They are angry at the outcome in the trial of the man who killed Trayvon Martin. The Dream Defenders are a diverse group of young adults who practice non-violent activism. Just after 7:30 this morning Rob spoke with one of their members, Steve Pargett who along with other members of the group slept on the floor of the state capital last night .

He also talks to a state legislator Dwight Dudley on Florida’s controversial “stand your ground” law. Later, Rob explores how the rest of the country views Florida now that the Zimmerman trial is over and plays a piece from the video below.
