Following in the footsteps of Tampa, the City of Gulfport now has a Domestic Partnership Registry. Last night the city council unanimously supported a registry to allow unmarried same-sex or opposite-sex couples become eligible for some of the same rights as married couples. This morning Mayor Mike Yakes signed the ordinance during a ceremony that is archived on YouTube. The city anticipates the registry to be active around the 4th of July.
