The U.S. Department of Justice has approved all 76 provisions of Florida’s controversial new election law. That’s according to a statement today from Florida’s Secretary of State Kurt Browning. Browning said this means those provisions now go into effect in the five counties, including Hillsborough that require pre-clearance of changes to voting laws by the federal government to ensure they don’t discriminate against racial or ethnic minorities.
