Former BP chief Tony Hayward gave a video-taped deposition last month. It concerns ongoing litigation related to last year’s Gulf of Mexico oil disaster. On Tuesday a judge ordered that video clips be removed from two Internet sites.
The order from U.S. Magistrate Judge Sally Shushan says the clips were posted on YouTube.com and TheDaily.com, an online newspaper owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. The judge said release of the video may violate a previous court order.
As of Wednesday morning four clips from the deposition, dated June 2011, were still on TheDaily.com. WMNF recorded the audio of Tony Hayward’s deposition from that video.
