Local Community Gardens
Our first two guests on todays program were Jun Bustamante and Bob Linde; theyre involved in a Seed and Plant Share event happening in St. Petersburg on October 12 at The Ale & The Witch Pub, 111- 2nd Ave. NE. The Roots Event, in addition to the Seed and Plant Share, will have music, raffles, and more. This is a Pinellas Gardening Collective event.
We spent the rest of the hour talking with representatives from four community garden projects. Bob Abbenzeller and Karen Elizabeth represented Plant City Commons Community Garden; Travis Malloy with Temple Terrace Community Garden; Bill Bilodeau with Faith House Community Garden in St Pete; and a new community garden, the Old Southeast St Pete, was represented by its founder Aila Erman.
During the program we also had a number of other community gardeners call-in about their programs in the Tampa Bay area. All of these projects sound like a lot of outdoor fun--and we can grow our own! The Old SE St Pete Garden doesnt have its website up yet; but you can contact them by email firstname.lastname@example.org powered by Disqus
