Local Haitian community responds to earthquake disaster
Yesterday there was a devastating earthquake in Haiti. Communications between the US and the Caribbean nation have been disrupted. But we know the outline of the story- so far- reports indicate thousands of people have been killed. Many more have been injured or are still trapped in the rubble. The quake hit some of the country's most populous areas.
We're joined now by two Haitian activists who are planning a meeting today at 4 pm in Tampa to develop a community response to the crisis. They are Daniel Thelusmar (813 892 9766) and Pastor Paul Nelson (813 770 8538) with the Good Samaritan International Foundation. The meeting is scheduled for today at 2910 E. MLK Blvd. in Tampa.comments powered by Disqus
