Local Occupy protests against law okaying military arrests of civilians and against Progress Energy nuclear plants

Coming up we'll talk with members of Occupy Tampa and of Occupy St. Petersburg.

This afternoon members of Occupy Tampa plan to protest the Defense Authorization bill that would give the military the power to arrest terror suspects domestically. The protest will take place at Centro Ybor in Ybor City at 5PM followed by a march to the Obama for President campaign headquarters nearby. Our guest from Occupy Tampa is Becky Rubright.

Later we'll talk with Lenny Frank, Bill Hurley, and Chuck Terzian who are members of Occupy St. Pete. The group is planning a protest tomorrow at 10AM in Williams Park. The occupiers are objecting to Progress Energy's decision to charge customers for repairs at the Crystal River Nuclear Plant. they also object to PE customers being forced to pay in advance for a proposed new nuclear power plant, a plant which has not yet commenced construction.
