Good afternoon, welcome to Radioactivity. I'm Rob Lorei. A delegation of women from the U.S. is getting ready to travel to Gaza on a humanitarian mission. We’ll meet a local woman who is part of the delegation.

But first some listener comments about yesterday’s program. During the program we received a call from a man who said he was a combat veteran who served in both Afghanistan and Iraq. He said torture and the killing of civilians happened in both wars.

The peace group Code Pink is planning another mission to the Palestinian territory of Gaza at the invitation of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). This is the second time this year the group will have visited the territory. This time the group will focus on the children of Gaza.

Children make up more than half of Gaza’s population and, according to Code Pink, this next generation is struggling with extraordinarily high rates of malnutrition, homelessness and depression.

Local peace and social justice advocate Jeanie Toth of Rise Up Tampa Bay will be part of the delegation. And she joins us now by telephone.
