On today's Sustainable Living program the topic was electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids and the upcoming [National Plug-in Day] (www.pluginday.org) , September 28. Our first two guests are involved with the Sierra Club. Britten Cleveland works at the St Petersburg office of the Sierra Club and among many things she's involved with their clean air campaign. Tom Krumreich also joined the show; he's a volunteer for the Sierra Club that has been involved with the National Plug-in Day event .The event will take place in Temple Terrace, at the corner of 56th Street and Bush Blvd (Bullard Parkway), starting at 10AM on Saturday. WMNF will be doing a remote broadcast starting at 12 Noon with the Sixties Show. Bill Moore joined the conversation by phone; he's the publisher for EV World.com, an internet magazine. One of the call-ins during the show was Al Lococo, with the Suncoast Electric Vehicles Association and author of A Turning Point in History about peak oil. Show topics included charging stations, batteries, safety, range, history of EVs, etc.
