Nuclear disaster in Japan: How dangerous are US nukes?
Good afternoon, welcome to the Last Call. I'm Rob Lorei. This afternoon we're going to talk about the growing nuclear crisis in Japan in the wake of last Friday's earthquake. Our guest is Harvey Wasserman:
Harvey Wasserman's Solartopia! Our Green-Powered Earth, A.D. 2030, is at www.solartopia.org. He is senior advisor to Greenpeace USA and the Nuclear Information & Resource Service, and writes regularly for www.freepress.org. He and Bob Fitrakis have co-authored four books on election protection, including Did George W. Bush Steal America's 2004 Election?, As Goes Ohio: Election Theft Since 2004 , How the GOP Stole America's 2004 Election & Is Rigging 2008, and What Happened in Ohio.
In this interview Wasserman claims there have been up to a million deaths in the wake of the Chernobyl nuclear power disaster in the USSR. The comment brought two negative calls from listeners who thought the numbers were inflated.
Here's a discussion of the controversy over the numbers including a link to the original source of the million deaths figure.comments powered by Disqus
