Occupy Tampa is planning what they're calling a "pool party" on Sunday to beat heat at Curtis Hixon Park where there is no reprieve from the sun. One protester, Jordan Harrah, said Sunday marks the day that many U.S. cities are beginning occupations in their communities.
“The pool party is going to coincide with a day of action on the 15th were countries all around the world and, really, all around America will be starting their occupation and essentially will be occupying the streets. We’ve been out here for three days and we did it to get a head start on the process and the different things we have to figure out; camping out here and actually maintaining supplies and maintaining food for the people that are staying over the night.”
The group is inviting anyone interested in protesting corporations and individuals who represent the 1% to join them for some frolicking in the park’s fountains.
