Congress has passed a $662 billion defense bill. The National Defense Authorization Act could expand indefinite detention under the U.S. government. One provision would authorize the military to jail people it considers terrorism suspects anywhere in the world without charge or trial. President Barack Obama originally said he would veto the bill, but now says he will sign it.
This afternoon Occupy Tampa will be demonstrating against the defense bill in Ybor City at 5 o’clock at Centro Ybor. Becky Rubright is part of Occupy Tampa.
