Occupy Tampa will hold first general assembly in months this weekend
Occupy Tampa was very active in the fall of 2011 and even through last summer’s Republican National Convention in Tampa.
Since then the group has fallen a bit under the radar.
But that could change this weekend – Occupy Tampa will hold its first general assembly in months Sunday evening at the Kiley Garden amphitheater in downtown.
Nathan Schwartz is involved in Occupy Tampa, Tampa Light Brigade and other activist groups.
Meanwhile, today on the Tampa campus of the University of South Florida several students are holding what they’re calling a weekly occupation of the Patel Center. That building houses the offices of university president Judy Genshaft and other administrators.
We spoke live on the phone with one of the participants, Danielle Leppo with Tampa Bay Students for a Democratic Society.
