Earlier this month, WMNF reported that the Green Party of Hillsborough County was working to get a Tampa City Councilmember involved in sponsoring legislation that would bring Instant-Run off Voting, or IRV, to local elections.
Within the next couple of weeks, advocates for Instant Run-Off Voting, are now hoping to meet in front of the Sarasota City Commission.

The animal rights group PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, frequently creates controversy in order to get their animal rights message into the news.
Perhaps their most controversial campaign was when the group directly compared farm-animal slaughter to the Nazi Holocaust.
