This Sunday an estimated 200,000 race car fans are expected to flock to Daytona for the beginning of the NASCAR season, and for the signature Daytona 500 raceÃ¢â¬Â¦.

Last week Lawton Ã¢â¬ÅBud Chiles the 3rd, the son of former Florida Governor and Senator Lawton Chiles, announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for Governor in 2006.
Although Chiles initially may get a boost because of his famous last name, the 51 year old Orlando businessman has never ran for public office.

On Friday, health officials in New York City announced they had discovered a man infected with a rare strain of HIV that is resistant to nearly all anti-retroviral drugs used to treat the infection, and made stunningly swift progression from infection to full-fledged AIDS.
That news has alarmed some in the AIDS medical community, while others think more needs to be learned about the virus.

In Sarasota, a group of local citizens have been working towards creating a low-power (FM) non-commercial community and college radio station serving New College and the surrounding Sarasota neighborhoods.
Station organizers say theyÃ¢â¬â¢re trying to reach $25,000 in start up costs, and believe theyÃ¢â¬â¢re about half way to that total right now, as they work towards getting on the air sometime this Summer
