Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon pledged today to push ahead with expansion of a large Jewish settlement near Jerusalem, despite U.S. concerns and Palestinian protests it would cut them off from the city.
Sharon spoke to a parliamentary committee a week before he meets George W. Bush at the U.S. president's Texas ranch.

A U.S. district court judge has ruled that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers illegally failed to consult with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service regarding the impacts on the endangered Florida panther of nationwide dredge-and-fill permits issued in 2002. The case was brought against the Corps by the National Wildlife Federation and Florida Panther Society.

To nobodyÃ¢â¬â¢s great surprise, Hillsborough County Commissioner Kathy Castor announced today that she WILL run for the Congressional Seat Being vacated by Jim Davis next year.
Congressman Davis has already announced he is leaving that seat Ã¢â¬â which he has held since 1996- to run for the Democratic nomination for Governor.
