INTRO: Weeks after voters in Florida passed an amendment to require doctors to release medical malpractice records to their patients, numerous legal challenges and lawsuits to amendment 7 have been filed. President Bush announced this afternoon that he will re-nominate 20 judicial appointees, many of whom are strongly opposed by democrats, and some of whom were either blocked by democratic filibusters in the Senate, or never made it to the point of approval. Members of ACORN gathered at the Code Enforement office in Ybor today, to protest what they believe is the city's part in the death of a woman earlier this month. For WMNF, Jen Germaine reports.

FloridaÃ¢â¬â¢s attorney general Charlie Crist has reopened the investigation on the murder of two black civil rights activists in Mims Florida in 1951. Harriet and Harry Moore were killed when a bomb went off under their house, and the killers were never found. The issue was raised by the Moore daughter, and local civil rights leaders. The Haitian American community In South Florida has become frightened by an apparent crackdown by law enforcement authorities, who have been arresting Haitian immigrantsÃ¢â¬âsome of whom have not been heard from in weeks. The Immigrantion and Customs Enforcement is the only agency communicating with community leaders, but they wont claim responsibility for all of these arrests. WMNF spoke with Jean-Robert Lafortune, the director of the Haitian American Grassroots coalition.
