JPMorgan Chase announced this morning they are closing their credit card calling center in Tampa later this year, eliminating 1,900 jobs. Its the latest of several mass layoffs in South Florida by call centers.
First American National Default Outsourcing announced off 100 people from their bay meadow call center lat month. Sykes enterprises let go 166 of its Marianna employees in September and October.

Florida Governor Jeb Bush outlined a major overhaul of Florida's Medicaid program today, hoping to control runaway costs and give consumers more choice by expanding the number and types of managed care organizations treating the state's poor and disabled.

A US Marine who went to battle in Iraq after he served a sentence for adultery is fighting a deportation order to his native Haiti.
