INTRO: In April of this year, the community of Zephyrhills attracted national attention by rescinding the Martin Luther King Jr. name it had previously placed on Sixth Avenue. Hillsborough County Investigators say that vandalism at an Islamic Education Center in Lutz probably occurred sometime last week, but was not discovered until after 6PM last Friday night when someone arrived to begin preparing the classrooms for weekend education sessions.
The Community Education Center serves hundreds of children who attend public or private schools who attend the school on weekends for Islamic religious education.

Last week, the Hillsborough County Commission narrowly voted down a proposal that would have raised the minimum wage for all Hillsborough County employees to $9.97 an hour. That Living Wage would also work for workers for certain private companies holding contracts with the County or receiving tax abatements and subsidies.
In voting against the measure, Commissioner Ronda Storms said this:

The Dean of manatee community college has shut down the student newspaper, because of what sheÃ¢â¬â¢s claims was a need to review its editorial policy. But the writers and staff of the paper are calling it censorship, saying the school didnÃ¢â¬â¢t approve of articles that were critical of the way to spends its money. As we reported last night, a group of former senior diplomatic officials and retired military commanders have -- issued statement arguing that George W. Bush has damaged the country's national security and are calling on Americans to defeat him in November.
The group, called Diplomats and Military Commanders for Change, argues that the Bush Administration is not just estranged around the world but even from America's own bipartisan foreign policy and military establishments.
