Thousand of volunteers from all over the country are fanned out across the State of Florida to protect residents right to vote, and avoid some of the problems which plagued the 2000 election. So far, there have been minor problems reported throughout the state, but no major incidents of voter suppression.

With the war in Iraq dominating the presidential campaign, some are calling the environment the lost issue of the 2004 election season. BBC investigative journalist Greg Palast identified some of the problems identified ahead of election day and on election day with voting in the U.S. He pointed to faulty felon voting lists, lack of security in electronic voting and failure to institute reforms since the 2000 election.
