Inside the courtroom, officer Knight, the man who killed Tyron Lewis, was called to the stand for the second time; this time by the cityâ€™s lawyers. The cityâ€™s lawyer asked him whether he shot Tyrone Lewis intentionally.

Chris Kelly is a resident of St. Petersburg's Midtown area and was caught in the unrest which erupted Wednesday night. He described what happened to him, the mood of the crowd, and what he described as the link between the Uhuru movement and the violence. Muslim Kids May Sue for being kicked off The Bus
The families of 14 Muslim middle school pupils removed from a school bus last year say they are close to suing the Duval County School Board, alleging the youngsters were victims of religious discrimination.
The families filed notice under a Florida law that requires six months warning before suing a public agency. Under Duval County's unified city-county government, city attorneys represent the school system.

Late last week members of the group Food Not Bombs celebrated the news that they had persuaded Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio to drop criminal charges against members of their group who had been arrested recently for feeding the homeless at Massey Park in downtown Tampa.
So For now, Food Not Bombs can continue to provide food in the Parks on Sunday without fear of arrest.

The trial of Tyron Lewis continued today in St Petersburg. Lewis was killed by a St Petersburg police officer in 1996, a civil disturbance followed, in which angry black residents set fires in the street, angry about another act of violence by law enforcement against African Americans. Lewis family is seeking a verdict of wrongful death, and wants the city of Saint Petersburg to pay them.
