Beginning in 1967 and through the end of the Vietnam War, there was a strong peace movement involving veterans of the Vietnam War. Our guest was Gerald Nicosia, author of HOME TO WAR: A HISTORY OF THE VIETNAM VETERANS' MOVEMENT. Amberly Banks, a student at USF and Christine Aikman went to New York to protest the lack of responsiveness of government. They are concerned about many issues including peace. Christine was arrested while there and shared her experiencesin the infamous 57th St. Armory and Amberly talked about the lengths she had to go to to avoid being arrested while walking toward Madison Square Garden. Betty Castor, now officially the democratic partyÃ¢â¬â¢s nominee for senate, spent her entire election day yesterday in Tampa, going from one neighborhood to another trying to drum up voters support. After winning an overwhelming victory yesterday over Peter Deutsch, Castor appeared this morning surrounded by democratic senators, who are now on board the castor campaign. The event took place at The American Legion Hall number 5 on west Kennedy Boulevard.

For the past year consumer advocates have been trying to force TECO to admit they signed a contract with one of their on subsidiaries to transport coal to Florida across the gulf of Mexico, and paid them more than the market rate, resulting in higher electricity rates for consumers.
