Patrick Bergey is running as an Independent against incumbent Kurt Browning for Supervisor of Elections in Pasco County.

Bergey has been quite vocal about problems that he says are ever present in the Ivotronic Touch Screen Voting Machines that will be used in Pasco County later this year.

In the midst of his stunning, startling series of articles in the New Yorker about the Abu Grahib Prison abuse scandal, journalist Seymour Hersh wrote that Arabs were particularly vulnerable to sexual humiliation because of a frequently cited book, entitled, "The Arab Mind", written by Raphael Patai, a cultural anthropologist, in the early 1970's....Patai died back in 1996.....

FELONS LIST - Mitch Perry

Less than 24 hours after the release a of a database listing of more than 47,000 people that the State's Divisions of Elections says may be ineligible to vote because of felony records, the Miami Herald reported this morning that more than 2,100 such voters- many of them Black Democrats - were incorrectly listed.

The Herald reported that at least 2,119 of those names shouldn't be on the list because their rights to vote were formally restored through the state's clemency process. ...

KIDCARE STOPS ENROLLMENT/PARENTS REACT-Andrew Stelzer

Kidcare, the state run health care program that provides free medical insurance for more than 350 thousand children low-income parents, eliminated its open enrollment process yesterday, and changed the rules so that no one can put their children on the waiting list until January of 2005. A Leon County Circuit Court judge today struck down a state law that prevents copying a state list with names of more than 47,000 registered voters who may be deleted from the voter rolls because the state has identified them as possible ex-felons.
