Tomorrow in Tampa a demonstration is being held against the new Cuba travel restrictions imposed by the Bush Administration on June 30th.

The new rules forbid Cuban-Americans from items, such as clothes, personal hygiene items, seeds, fishing supplies, soap-making equipment and veterinary medicines to their family members in Cuba. CITY COUNCIL DISCUSSION - Mitch Perry

The Tampa City Council met for the first time in 3 weeks today.....As the Council's Meeting room is being remodeled, today's meeting was held at the Tampa Convention Center, which is where the next several meetings will take place as well.

A couple of City Council members - most notably, Rose Ferlita, have objected to a new directive issued by the Iorio administration - that all city business conducted by Council members with staff members take place AT CITY HALL.

A survey of 800 Florida state residents finds that 81 percent of likely voters are in favor of renewing the national assault weapons ban, and 80 percent of Florida’s likely voters favor strengthening the ban to include new assault weapons that have been created since the ban was instituted in 1994.
