A poll taken yesterday of almost 800 students at the university of south FloridaÃ¢â¬â¢s Tampa campus found that students favor George Bush by a one-point margin, 45 percent to Jon Kerry at 44 percent. The poll also found that Students favor amendment 1, which would require parental notification for a minor to have an abortion, by a 4-point margin, and they would vote to pass the amendment to raise FloridaÃ¢â¬â¢s minimum wage by a 3 to 1 margin. In 3 weeks, voters will decide whether to raise the minimum wage in Florida a dollar to $6.15 an hour, and from $2.13 to $3.13 for tipped workers, with annual adjustments for inflation. If approved, the new wage would go into effect six months after being enacted. Employers violating it will be subject to a $1,000 fine.
