While much of the media has focused on coastal beachfront areas, which have been effected by Hurricane charley, central Florida has seen some of the greatest damage. Colleen Castile is secretary of the stateÃ¢â¬â¢s department of environmental protection. She says that for the next two weeks the state will be in emergency mode, trying to develop a system that will provide for peoples needs. She told WMNF that the first priority is to get electricity back on, and after that, helping people regain a sense of routine so that they can get their lives back together.
