Two weeks ago, Miami Beach assistant Police Chief, and several officers told the Miami herald that the Miami police routinely photograph rap musicians, follow them to concerts and parties, and have a binder of files on them. The Miami police chief has denied those charges, but the Herald stands by its story. Meanwhile, lawsuits are being threatened, against the Miami police, and the New York City police department, who trained MiamiÃ¢â¬â¢s cops on how to survail hip hop artists.

But since Mayor Pam Iorio's election last year, that's been harder to do. In recent months members of the group Food Not Bombs say they've been more harassed by local police when trying to do distribute food.....And yesterday, a member of that group was arrested by Tampa Police in Massey Park in downtown Tampa.. ...he says it was only because he asked the question, "Why couldn't he feed the homeless?"

There are over almost 2 million US military veterans living in Florida, most of them receive full health coverage from the government, through the department of veterans affairs. One of the biggest Veterans medical centers is Bay Pines, in St Petersburg. Sarasota Film Society brings the Global Film Initiative. This is a program of films organized by the Global Film Initiative and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Burns Cinema is the only southeern location where they will be shown. Countries represented include films from Cuba, Palestine, Tajikistan, Philippines, Algeria, Iran, India, Brazil, and Tunisia.
